| In Stereo Where Available |
| Sitting down in the easy chair today : | Ross Hammond |
| Current musical thang? : | Just did a recording w/ David Boyce, Scott Amendola, Joaquin McPeek and Lisa Mezzacappa. Should be out this summer.
V Neck (guitar and drum duo w/ Tom Monson), RACE!!! (improvising jazz quintet), Ni Project (guitar and Tabla w/ Alex Jenkins), The Balhamkings (w/ my friend Brian Ballentine and Shawn Hail) plus
whatever gig comes along that needs some guitar work.
I also curate the jazz shows for the Java Lounge (Prescott Showcase)
on Thursdays and the Fox and Goose on Wednesdays (Good for the Soul).
And finally, I run an indie jazz record label called Prescott Recordings. |
| Ya got a website? : | http://www.rosshammond.com http://www.myspace.com/rosshammond |
| Can I have a listen? : | |
| May I get you a sandwich? : | I like Boca Bugers w/ pineapple and teriyaki sauce. Or any kind of veggie samich. |
| |
|

| Magic Sandwich: For a horror movie, create a psycho killer and his/her ways and means
of his/her killing spree. Do they target a specific kind of person?
Is the killer ever caught or killed? | At the Fox and Goose. Photo by Rodger Sargent. |
| Ross Hammond: I'd like to see a film about the midwestern grandmother who just
can't take it anymore and goes on a rampage with poisoned dumplings
and knitting needles. I don't think she should get caught because
hey, she's a grandmother for the love of God. |
| MS: What kind of cover/tribute band would you join in a second? |
| RH: Sacto Tribute to the Gap Band... |
| MS: What is something every bathroom should have, but doesn't? |
| RH: A picture of Lou Rawls. My bathroom used to have one, seriously.
Although my wife probably wouldn't go for it. |
| MS: Who would you love to have read a story to you and what kind of story
should they read? |
| RH: I think I'd like to hear a biography of Rudy Ray Moore read to me by
Charles Nelson Reilly . It's all about the contrast, ya know? That,
and they both use their middle names. |
| MS: List the items currently on your coffee or kitchen table. |
| RH: Copies of Guitar Player, Latina and Golf Digest magazines, a
greeting card with a picture of Conway Twitty and a canister for dry
dog food (we haven't found a place for the Conway Twitty card yet). |
| MS: Which park in Sacramento is your favorite? |
| RH: I like Land Park the best. Anywhere that has fishing, a zoo,
Shakespeare, golf and little league is a winner to me. My bulldog
seems to prefer Bertha Hentchel in East Sac, though. |
| MS: Do you have a favorite shirt or other item of clothing? What does it
look like and why is it your favorite? |
| RH: Not so much a shirt, but I do have a pretty good collection of
hats. I like Borsalinos and Driving caps the best. |

Again at the Fox and Goose, joined by the lovely Alex Jenkins on tablas. Photo by Katie Johnson. Check her site out at kjcreates.com | MS: What was the longest road trip you ever took? |
| RH: My friend Tom Monson and I did a tour that spanned 2 weeks to the
Midwest. It wasn't so much that the actual trip was long, but we
only played 4 gigs in 2 weeks. A lotta downtime. |
| MS: What should they have a greeting card for, but don't? |
| RH: "Congratulations on your latest Plastic Surgery" |
| MS: I'll provide the answer, you give the applicable question: Rabbits,
mostly. |
| RH: What kind of dog toys do your pets own? |
